Welcome aboard The Bus!
The Stop
Thursday’s Bus (Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band) was Volume 2’s 50th issue - which means today’s post is the 102nd since I first started publishing The Bus nearly a year ago.1 To those of you who have been Bus Riders since the beginning, I deeply appreciate your continued willingness to stay on board. But no matter when you got your ticket, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Producing The Bus is a labour of love and it’s remarkably rewarding to know it’s appreciated.
Volume 2 has covered a variety of topics including the Brandenburg Concertos, Oblique Strategies, Alice Coltrane, a month of Christmas-themed topics, Coleridge’s ‘Kubla Khan’, Thomas Pynchon, Original Star Trek’s Requiem for Methuselah, the Crab Nebula, philosophical zombies and parsecs. In my opinion, this leg of the journey’s been great - but the next one is going to be even better.
Thanks again for riding The Bus - and please let me know your thoughts. Only a small percentage of readers ‘like’ or ‘comment’ - which is fine - but I’m always interested in what you think. So, to belabour the metaphor … ring the bell and let me know!
The Index
The Sounds
Today’s playlist consists of Volume 2’s 250 tracks, totalling around 17.5 hours of what can only be described as musical ecstasy. A warning: 15 of these are ACTUAL CHRISTMAS SONGS, so - if you’re like me and can’t stand a Christmas track outside the 1 - 25 December window, you might hide them in your playlist or risk an unpleasant surprise as you’re listening by the pool in July. It’s certainly eclectic, so put it on shuffle and see where it takes you. Enjoy!

And that’s the end of this Stop - I hope you enjoyed the diversion!

Until the next Stop …
My arbitrary decision in September to have 50 issues per volume with a 51st as the summary/things-to-come letter means The Bus Vol. 2, Issue 49 (Parsecs) was the 100th published issue - but who’s counting?! The anniversary of The Bus is 7 April. I expect an international day of celebration, of course.
Congrats on such a big milestone!
Oh no, I’ve only got a week to prepare for the big Bus party ... how will I get it all done? 😀
