hey they also do sweet remix of the little known but utterly sublime This Love by Harlem's Joytones titled 'What I'm Giving You'. im always blinking back a tear ever time.
an obscure German electronic act calling themselves Sweeps remixed Darondo's immortal Didn't I back in the mid-aughts, under the title 'Don't Let it Stress'. it's worth a spin...
Great suggestion - am listening to it as I type this while waiting in the car during football practice. You were the one who turned me onto Darondo in the first place - I think on a mixed CD you named Dos Palobos or some such thing.
Thanks Bryan. Love a little funk. Yes, Flannery O’Connor stated something similarly memorable to Musashi: truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it. Re Transub - interesting this Platonic angle. Might be argued that the doctrine actually owes more to Aristotle’s distinction of form/substance. Trent’s chosen vocab is along the lines of: no change in the outward form but rather the inward substance. Hence, transubstantiation over transformation. I mean, it’s dancing on pinheads here but that’s metaphysics for ya.
True, that - Aristotle's distinction is certainly the language adopted by the Church. But I like to think he couldn't escape the influence of his old teacher! Glad you liked the funk. Sorry for the slow reply, but time's quite tight these days!

Just listened to this - gorgeous. Great find!
I feel like me asking you to write about the allegory in the cave is like asking a musician to play freebird ya know?
