Thanks, Bryan, finally a reasonable explanation for the Santa Claus myth. Christmas would be much more lovely sans the crazed capitalism engulfing and spewing it.
You know I would have shown my young math students the triangle and rectangle video. So much better presentation than still chalk drawings on the old green board!
I read about the Santa myth's origin in a mushroom cult years ago when I was still in NC - but it had kind of slipped my mind until this popped into my inbox. Totally agree with you re: the damage capitalism does to Christmas - this year in particular I've really been seeing the negative effect. In part this is because of the ever-widening divide between the haves/have nots that's here in the UK, but also because of the financial pain some people are putting themselves through in order to buy gifts for their kids/grandkids ... and it's all just stuff. Lots and lots and lots of stuff. A reset is needed. 'Reset Christmas!'
Glad you liked it - and hope you enjoyed your Boxing Day! And as for Winslet ... Jack Black is definitely punching well above his weight in that relationship.

Another fun edition - I like how we both chose Boxing Day as a topic. The Holiday is a fun movie - Winslet is clearly the MVP of the movie.
